Desk research with citations, conversations with people in the field, ecosystem mapping. I figure out who holds what, before designing anything.

Information architecture, sitemaps, role models. I draw the structure of the product before any pixel, so the team has something to argue with.

Swimlanes, service blueprints, user journeys. The map of how intent becomes action, across people, screens, and the platform behind them.

Visual identity, UI, dashboards, components. Where the structure turns into a product people open without thinking, and trust on second glance.

Embedded with engineering, specs, tokens, design system, documentation. Often augmented by AI workflows, so handoff feels like one continuous build.

A bit about me.

Portrait of Pietra Gottardo

Hey! I'm Pietra, I design solutions that work across borders.

I started in graphic design, branding, editorial, industrial, before moving into digital product design. For the past four years I've been focused on SaaS, working with international teams that need to turn complex, regulated, multi-stakeholder domains into interfaces people can actually use.

My work tends to live at the boundary between research, information architecture and the UI itself. I map ecosystems, draw service blueprints, design role-based sidebars, and ship the screens that come out the other end, often working alongside engineering as a product architect rather than handing files over a wall.

I work in EN and PT-BR. Available for new engagements with startups that take their domain seriously.
